Help bring efficiency to the medical profession
In the fast-growing medical field, job opportunities abound in hospitals, in doctors’ offices, in the medical sales and insurance industries, and even for self-employed freelancers who work from home. Office personnel with exceptional skills and a professional work ethic are constantly sought by employers.
PCC’s medical office administration students prepare for success in the workplace. Strong skills in keyboarding, filing systems, accounting, and the latest popular computer applications, as well as extensive training in medical terminology and transcription, give graduates a tremendous advantage so that they can enter the workplace as confident and proficient medical office employees and managers.
Practical, Bible-centered classes with a liberal arts base include instruction in English, speech, history, and interpersonal skills to help students become articulate, knowledgeable, capable employees with numerous career options.
PCC’s medical office administration program definitely helped me transition from being a medical office worker to becoming a full-time medical transcriptionist. The typing, terminology, and English classes helped prepare me immensely. I type for a pulmonary group and a neurology group and am also a proofer. I knew that I wanted a job that would allow me to work at home when my husband and I had children. I was working for a
pulmonary group in Virginia, and I inquired about
the transcription company that they used. I actually
type and proof work now for the office that I used to
work for years ago.
