Promote products using professional methods
Successful companies and organizations depend on advertising and public relations personnel to present their products and services professionally. PCC’s advertising/public relations program trains students to do so by combining studies in advertising, business, communication, and design.
Through the program’s solid sequence of studies, advertising/public relations students prepare to write, design, and communicate effectively. In public relations, marketing, and advertising courses, students gain a biblical perspective on the components of advertising and public relations: advocacy and persuasion, employee and media relations, consumer and community relations, and crisis management.
Writing and communication classes allow students to put these philosophies into practice for print, radio, television, and Internet venues. For hands-on experience in advertising and public relations, students plan, promote, and oversee the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bowl collegian soccer championship, which draws over 6,000 spectators.
A built-in graphic design minor helps students learn effective advertising principles using industry-standard design software and computers. Students create advertising campaigns, design promotional publications and websites, and collaborate with local businesses to advertise in College publications.
This thorough, balanced program equips students with a comprehensive set of skills valued by prospective employers.
