Learn the business of sports and fitness
Sports and recreation has become an essential part of culture, as vast numbers of people engage in competitive sports and recreational activities. Positions in sports and Christian camp facilities provide abundant opportunities for those with the well-rounded physical education and business training PCC offers in the sport management concentration.
By learning both the physical education and business sides of the sports and recreation industry, students obtain the training needed to manage sports facilities, direct camp ministries, or administrate sports organizations. Specialized courses provide training in the following areas:
- business law
- first aid/nutrition
- facilities operation/organization
Beyond gaining preparation for future employment, students also receive the foundational spiritual training needed to use sports to reach people for Christ and disciple them in their Christian walk. Bible courses provide in-depth knowledge of God’s Word with strong spiritual application while helping students develop ethical business practices and philosophies.
Equipped with well-rounded physical education, business, and spiritual training, sport management grads have earned advanced degrees and are serving God in a variety of positions such as personal trainers, camp administrators, and fitness directors.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity the Lord has given to me to attend Pensacola Christian College. As a Sport Management major, I found the physical education classes extremely valuable because I was given an extensive education not only about the science of how the body works, but also about how to properly take care of the body through physical exercise. I also received many business courses that have given me the knowledge and understanding of handling personal finances, as well as personal business endeavors. Ultimately, every class was given with ministry in mind. Because of this, it has given me the mindset to use the education and opportunities the Lord has given to me for His honor and glory, no matter where His plan takes me.
