Political Science Major

Bachelor of Arts Degree

A Graduate’s Perspective

I am so thankful that I studied political science at a Christian college. I have learned history, philosophy, and public policy all from a Christian perspective. The political science instructors did a great job at setting the bar challengingly high, for which I am very grateful. Through my classes, I met people with the same passion and vision to have a godly influence on our government and society which has grown increasingly immoral. Because of the excellent academic training I have received, I am ready to make a lasting difference for God in American society and its political culture. — Stephanie, PCC 2009 Graduate

This major gives students opportunity to study the institution of government and its role in society. At PCC, government is presented as a God-ordained institution for establishment and maintenance of law and order. The United States constitutional system with its hallmark of limited government is presented as the model of free states for the modern world.

Political science major courses focus on political topics such as America’s founding, public administration, and political theory all from a Christian perspective that is ethical and traditional in orientation. Courses on Public Speaking and Debate develop these skills. Political science graduates have pursued careers in politics, law, journalism, and education.
