Music Ministries Concentration
Bachelor of Arts Degree, Bible Major
A Graduate’s Perspective
The Lord has wonderfully prepared me these past few years for my future. My Bible classes have given me a much deeper knowledge of the Word of God. Opportunities to work in Christian service groups and as a local church intern have shown me how a church music ministry should operate. The most significant thing for me has been seeing the testimony of men of God, my teachers, who have chosen to make studying the Word of God the foundation of their lives. Their example has helped me to strengthen my faith and character, two areas of my life that will be tested as I begin working in a local church ministry. — David, PCC 2008 Graduate

Men and women who choose a music ministries concentration receive solid training in both Bible content and music instruction, enabling them to assist in several facets of local church ministry. Men are prepared to be associate pastors as well as music ministers.
Academic Requirements: Students must have at least a “C” in all Bible and Bible background courses and music courses with “MU” course numbers and EE 330 Teaching Bible. Because of the concentration of courses in Bible and music, students do not have to complete a minor. Bible cannot be claimed as a minor.
Academic Program Fee: $30 per semester or $7.50 per payment. Students taking music lessons or group instruction pay appropriate music course fees.
Proficiency: Students receive one-half hour lessons each semester during sophomore, junior, and senior years (voice proficiencies—junior year). All proficiency credits must be taken in the same proficiency (voice, piano, organ, or one of the standard band or orchestral instruments). Previous voice training is not required of students with a voice proficiency. Students who take organ lessons must have at least three years of piano background.
