Media Production Concentration

Bachelor of Science Degree, Communications Major

A Graduate’s Perspective

My program has given me the tools I need to succeed in the world of media production. We have benefitted from very practical classes such as Broadcast Management, which teach us the basics of scheduling and running a station. We've also learned to use video and audio equipment, to meet deadlines, and to understand the principles of video and audio production. These skills are put to use in our senior projects, which give us a chance to showcase everything we've learned. Media Production students are required to complete two summer internships, where we apply what we've learned in the classroom. After graduation, I will be working for the TV station where I interned. My dream is to one day be a producer. — Anh, PCC 2010 Graduate

This major prepares students for a career in electronic media production in the dynamic world of digital media. Courses develop students’ knowledge of video and audio production techniques and their application in a variety of production environments. Practical experience and Christian principles are emphasized as students produce projects in the student radio/video facilities, experience production internships, and work with the Rejoice in the Lord telecast, the nationally televised service of Campus Church.
