Spiritual

The center of spiritual vibrancy on campus, the Crowne Centre is the home of Campus Church as well as college chapel, a source of spiritual exhortation and enrichment.

Dale Horton Auditorium is used for Vespers services, special programs of sacred music and religious interpretive speech held several Sunday afternoons each semester.

Crowne Centre

The Crowne Centre—a 298,000-square-foot, 6,035-seat multipurpose auditorium—stands on Main Drive near the front entrance of campus. Used for college chapel, Campus Church services, and other occasions, the auditorium combines excellence in aesthetics and technology. An 18-by-24-foot magnification screen above the pulpit allows those seated in back or in the balcony to better see the speakers and events on the platform. A 2-story, 100-foot revolving stage platform gives flexibility in scheduling back-to-back events. The building also houses spacious orchestra and choir rehearsal areas, two 200-seat wedding chapels with hospitality rooms, and one stand-alone hospitality room.

Dale Horton Auditorium

The Dale Horton Auditorium is one of the largest performing arts auditoriums in the Southeast with a seating capacity of 3,500. It is named in honor of Jesse Dale Horton, father of PCC’s founder. The circular lobby wall is covered with a 250,000-pound California clay mural, depicting Biblical events from Creation to the Second Coming of Christ. Seating in the auditorium was originally designed for the Lincoln Center in Washington, D.C.
