Campus Life

We thought you’d like to know about...

Our campus

PCC’s Welcome Center greets you as you drive onto campus. Modern, multistory residence halls are comfortably furnished, carpeted, and air-conditioned. Every room has a private or adjoining bath, voice mail, and wireless Internet access. Beautiful flowers, palm trees, and lots of Florida sunshine offer a warm welcome to your new home away from home.

Collegians

Everyone belongs, and the right collegian is waiting just for you! Great college memories are made at your collegian’s intramural competitions, outings, and many activities and service opportunities.

The Commons

This large complex houses the post office and Bookstore. It’s also the perfect place to gather with friends in the social hall, snack area, or Palms Grille restaurant that features student favorites at reasonable prices.

See more about the Commons.

Meals

Two food courts provide choices including continental and cooked breakfast foods, entrée lines, international foods, pizza, deli, chicken tenders, baked potatoes, soup, salad bar, and fresh fruit.

Classes

Most classes meet only two or three days a week. And, since you won’t have classes every hour of the day, there’ll be plenty of time to grab a snack, do laundry, or get that studying done!

Faculty

Our well-qualified teachers make courses interesting and challenging. Their concern is shown in their willingness to go out of their way to help students.

Chapel

Four days a week you will hear preaching from outstanding Christian leaders in America. Students look forward to chapel services for spiritual strength and blessing.

Friendships

PCC is known for having a friendly spirit. All around campus, you can find someone with whom to enjoy a meal, study for class, or share an activity. Sports events, collegian outings, meals, church services, and Fine Arts are just a few of many campus events that you and your friends can enjoy together. Many times, roommates become some of your closest friends and help you feel at home.

Sports Center

For recreation and dating, the Sports Center is a great place to go. Experience the thrill of extreme sports as you climb the 40 and 60 ft. climbing walls with rappelling ledges or scale the 12 ft. climbing boulder. Try the new indoor water park with 3 water slides and 2 surfing waves. Go in-line or ice skating. Check out the miniature golf course, racquetball courts, and running track, or stop by The Hub or The Hut for a snack.

Sports

Intercollegiate and Intramural On the intercollegiate level, the PCC Eagles compete in men’s basketball, and the PCC Lady Eagles compete in volleyball and basketball. You may also get involved in your collegian’s intramural sports—soccer, basketball, softball, tennis, volleyball, and more!

Campus Church

You will be part of our local church on campus. Children’s churches, Sunday school, church nursery, ushering, special music, and deaf ministry are some opportunities for service. Outstanding Bible preaching with a strong evangelistic emphasis makes church services a joy to attend.

Vacations

Fall semester opens the first week of September and ends mid-December for a five-week winter break. Spring semester begins in late January and ends the second week in May.

Off-Campus Activities

Pensacola has shopping malls, historic sites, and beautiful beaches to enjoy.

Cars

All facilities are within walking distance, but you may bring your car to go off campus with friends.

Pensacola—City of Five Flags

Pensacola is located on the Gulf of Mexico with sparkling blue-green 80-degree summer waters and snow-white beaches. PCC is located on the north side of the city, just a short distance from the beaches. Pensacola is one of America’s oldest cities and home to the naval aviation training program and precision flying team the Blue Angels. (See the location of the college.)

Weather

Located in Northwest Florida, we are in the central time zone almost directly south of Chicago. Winter does get cold, but rarely cold enough to snow. Fall and spring offer warm days and cool nights. Summer is typically “Florida”—sunny, hot, and perfect for the beach!
