The purpose of this degree is to train and prepare leaders who will fill the need for administrators, principals, and academic supervisors in Christian schools.

Objectives: Graduates of this program will be able to

  1. identify the changing themes in American education from the 1600s to the present;
  2. trace the philosophical roots of major educational theories;
  3. articulate a distinctively Christian philosophy of education and its influence on curriculum, technology, methodology, and classroom management at the elementary and secondary levels;
  4. learn proven leadership tools effective in promoting the cause of Christ in the field of Christian education and for managing the Christian school’s finances, extracurricular activities, and legal aspects effectively;
  5. apply biblical wisdom and character to leadership responsibilities;
  6. perform the basic duties of an administrator in the areas of personnel, students, physical plant, and equipment;
  7. demonstrate competence in both written and oral communication;
  8. be prepared for further graduate study.

With its emphasis on spiritual and academic excellence, the program is rooted in a traditional, Christian philosophy of education and examines the practical application of that philosophy in the Christian school setting.

This master’s degree program is available to college graduates who are now or intend to be administrators, principals, vice principals, or academic supervisors. This program, like each of our other programs, is carefully designed to give the working educator practical training where he needs it most.
