Business:

BAV 600 Advanced Statistical Analysis (3) VHS
Competency: Statistics
This course teaches forecasting and econometric modeling principles used in business decision making. Topics covered include exploring data, handling outliers, correlation, single- and multiple-regression modeling, model assumption checking, residual analysis, ANOVA, various forecasting methods, and comparing means (the t-test). Students analyze data with SPSS and Microsoft Excel using these statistical methods to be able to make better and more informed decisions and to ensure the long-run success of a business.

Education:

EDV 541 History of American Education (3) VHS
This course provides an overview of the historical events and ideas which contributed to the development of present-day American education. The course also examines the present religious state of public education and the Christian school as the right alternative.

EDV 542 Philosophy of American Education (3) VHS
The general purpose of this course is to give the student an overview of philosophies which have influenced American education. The student will examine in detail the principles of philosophy which guide the fundamental Christian school movement.

EDV 545 Principles of Instruction and Methods (3) VHS
This course is designed to expose the Christian educator to a variety of successful instructional techniques and methods. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of proven methods of traditional Christian education.

EDV 606 Interpersonal Relationships (3) VHS
The Christian’s successful relationship with God, his family, his employer/employee, his fellow workers, and other people with whom he comes in contact are dealt with in this course.

EDV 618 School Management (3) VHS
This course is designed to build the skills necessary for school management expertise in the areas of personnel administration, supervision of instruction, food service, transportation, office and records procedures, in-service education, and principles of educational management.

EDV 625 Financial, Legal, and Extracurricular Aspects of Christian School Operation (3) DVD
This course explores key legal issues and sound financial principles in the operation of the Christian school. The student also examines the administrator’s involvement in the various areas of extracurricular activities.

EDV 628 Elementary Curriculum (3) VHS
This course will expose the graduate student to the sequential design of the elementary school curriculum. The scope and sequence of each grade level of the elementary curriculum will be reviewed. The student will become familiar with the content of each grade level in the elementary curriculum.

EDV 675 Secondary School Curriculum (3) DVD
This course deals with epistemology as it relates to learning and exposes the student to the sequential design of the high school curriculum. The student examines from a Christian perspective the philosophy, content, structure, and sequence of curriculum within each of the disciplines.

BIV 500 New Testament Fundamentals (3) VHS
This course will survey the books of the New Testament for the student without previous academic exposure to the Bible. Major themes and writers will be examined.

BIV 503 Advanced New Testament (3) VHS
Prereq.: BI 500 or New Testament Survey on undergraduate level or Bible exposition program.
A specialized study of the New Testament emphasizing the disciplines of the New Testament introduction (chronology), history (Intertestamental through A.D. 100), and the Biblical theology of the writers (Matthew, Luke, Paul, Peter, and John).

BIV 510 Old Testament Fundamentals (3) VHS
This course will survey the books of the Old Testament for the student without previous academic exposure to the Bible.

BIV 513 Advanced Old Testament (3) VHS
Prereq.: BI 503 or Old Testament Survey on undergraduate level or Bible exposition program.
A study of the Old Testament with in-depth readings on the backgrounds and contents of each Old Testament book. In addition to lectures and class discussions, studies will include research and reading in the areas of the Old Testament canon, text, and inspiration.

BIV 519 Post-Exhilic Prophets (3) VHS
The focus of this course is on the Books of Haggai, Zechariah, Esther, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Malachi. A study will be made of God’s dealing with Israel after the exile.

BIV 520 I & II Thessalonians (3) VHS
This course introduces the church at Thessalonica, reviewing the start of this church in Acts 17 during Paul’s second missionary journey. The course includes a careful exposition of Paul’s two short letters to the Thessalonians.

BIV 537 God’s Church Through the Ages (3) VHS
This course will examine the historical Church established by God from its foundation to the present.

BIV 543 History of American Education (3) VHS

BIV 564 Ezekiel (3) VHS
An in-depth exposition of Ezekiel with a threefold emphasis on the glory and holiness of God, the seriousness and ramifications of sin, and the distinction of Israel and the Church. There will be a focus on the practical principles and applications for daily living and successful service for the Lord.

BIV 607 Tabernacle, Feasts, and Offerings (3) VHS
A study of the beautiful imagery, symbolism, and prophetic significance of the tabernacle, feasts, and offerings. Emphasis is placed upon the practical application of Biblical truth to life and service.

BIV 613 Joshua, Judges, and Ruth (3) VHS
An exposition of the Books of Joshua, Judges, and Ruth aiming at a much greater understanding of Old Testament theology.

BIV 614 Revelation (3) VHS
An exposition of the Book of Revelation with emphasis placed upon Christ as the central Person of the book. Emphasis is placed upon the practical lessons of faithfulness and service to God in these final days before Christ’s return.

BIV 618 I & II Corinthians (3) VHS
In this course, special attention will be given to the church problems addressed by Paul: factionalism; immorality; church discipline; Christians taking other believers to court; and marriage, divorce, and remarriage. The course will also note the teachings of Paul on the use of spiritual gifts, questions relating to food, public worship, the significance of the resurrection of Christ, full-time vocational ministry, and the importance of giving to the local church.

BIV 622 Romans (3) VHS
An exposition of the Book of Romans aiming at much greater depth than it is possible to achieve in a survey course.

BIV 640 Doctrine and History of the Preservation of the Text (3) VHS
This graduate course in Bibliology explores the Biblical and historical definition of the preservation of the Holy Bible. The class examines the history of the doctrine of preservation as well as the history of Biblical truth in its manuscript and printed form. This course may be taken to meet D.Min. or M.Min. requirements.

BIV 673 Proverbs (3) VHS
The wisdom shared through the Book of Proverbs contains practical lessons for the Christian today. This course will examine the practical application of wisdom to daily living.

BIV 684 Life and Teachings of Jesus (3) VHS
A presentation on the life and teachings of Jesus based on a harmony of the four Gospels. Helpful backgrounds from the Intertestamental period are referenced.

Biblical Languages:

BLV 645 Hebrew I (3) DVD
A beginning analysis of elementary Hebrew including alphabet, vowels, nouns, particles, adjectives, and other parts of speech. The student focuses on learning the strong verb system and basic vocabulary while translating passages from the Book of Genesis.

BLV 646 Hebrew II (3) DVD
Prereq.: BL 645 or one semester undergraduate Hebrew.
A continuation of vocabulary, grammar, and syntax. The student will be introduced to the weak verb system. Translation is done from the Book of Ruth.

This course will establish a Biblical philosophy of organization and administration for a growing fundamental church in the 21st century.

DMV 707 The Biblical Translation Controversy and the Principle of Separation (3) VHS
This course applies principles of separation to the textual translation issue from the standpoint of a pastor. Especially applicable to local churches, this course will enable pastors to help their lay people understand the textual issue. Westcott and Hort's unorthodox beliefs, along with doctrinal deviations in the NIV and NASB, will be examined.
