Planetarium
Equipment featured in the PCC Planetarium:
- The 50-foot dome provides an interstellar arena where 50 slide and special effects projectors work with 7 video/graphics projectors to fill the dome surface with high-definition video. The high-definition version of SkyVision was first developed for PCC. PCC is the first organization in the Northwest Florida area to offer high-definition video.
- Audio for planetarium productions is produced by a 30,000-watt 7.1 surround-sound system.
- A Digistar-2 planetarium projector gives viewers the capability to see the night sky
from various locations on earth and to fly throughout the universe.
Planetarium Shows:
Celestial Stained GlassSee how stars “differ in glory” in their size and
temperature. Often clusters of stars appear as one star. Celestial Nebulae form exquisite
color patterns that remind one of stained glass windows.

Navigating with Lewis and ClarkHow did they know where they were when they were in the middle of nowhere? They used
astronomy! See how they used the stars to calculate their locations, and then follow
Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and the Corps of Discovery on their journey to the Pacific
Ocean.
