Why is choosing a college perhaps the second most important decision you’ll ever make? Because young adults most often choose their life’s vocation and their spouse at college. A Christian college can provide the best environment to make wise decisions for your life.

MYTH 1
"The community college or state university is an acceptable alternative."
The outstanding difference between secular institutions and Bible-believing Christian colleges is philosophy. Secular schools are dominated by secular humanism, which denies the Creator, worships creation, and considers man only a higher form of evolutionary animal life. Faculty, academics, and campus life are all influenced by this humanistic philosophy.
For a Christian young person, the secular college is not an acceptable alternative. Because the college’s philosophy will have a profound influence on shaping your attitudes and values, you owe it to yourself to find a good Christian college that promotes biblical values.
MYTH 2
"All Christian colleges are the same."
The name "Christian" does not make all Christian colleges the same. Important differences can be found in the varying approaches to Christian education and the standard of Christian values in each college.
Some colleges have traded the fundamentals of the faith and separation from the world for just a sprinkling of truth, with a sugar–coating of "Christian love." Errors are dangerously camouflaged, making it more palatable with a feel–good lifestyle.
Other Christian colleges, however, remain true to God’s Word and continue training students for God’s glory. Since the inerrant Word of God remains the foundation of PCC, you can trust that Pensacola Christian College will stay true to its name—Christian.

"Christian colleges are inferior in their academic programs, faculties, and facilities."
PCC’s academic standards have been proven comparable to those of the finest colleges in the nation. Our graduates are highly sought after in their fields of study. PCC’s faculty are qualified and spiritually committed to their calling in Christian education.

MYTH 4
"Christian colleges are just for preachers, missionaries, and choir directors!"
PCC offers a variety of academic programs in the undergraduate and graduate levels. Which means our students will become nurses, secretaries, graphic designers, mechanical engineers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, business managers, law enforcement personnel, computer programmers, and the list goes on!
And yes, we’re proud that we also train pastors, missionaries, youth leaders, evangelists, and those in music ministry.
But, if you don’t find the specific program you want at PCC, we encourage you to attend a Christian college for at least two years to lay the basic foundation for life. You may find God has plans for you to stay and complete your education at a Christian college.
MYTH 5
"Attending a Christian college will cramp my freedom and fun."
At PCC, you’ll have freedom to learn, make lifelong friends, be challenged to do your best, and grow as a Christian.
You and your friends will find plenty of things to do in a wholesome and fun environment. What college has its own water park? Rock climbing wall? Ice skating and inline skating rinks? Not to mention olympic–sized swimming pool, bowling alley, tennis courts, and so much more!
MYTH 6
"In today’s economy, I will never be able to afford a Christian college."
Cost is a factor in considering any college. Your goal should be to find the best quality Christian education for the most reasonable tuition. At $7,500 for tuition, room and board, PCC offers an affordable Christian education that does not sacrifice quality!
Just remember, if God calls you to attend a Christian college, He will provide for you. For thousands of students, God’s provision has come through PCC’s special offers and scholarships, special scholarships for Current Students, and work programs. An added benefit at PCC is the five-week break between semesters and the early–May dismissal, so that students who need to work, can.
