Can I Really Work My Way through College?

A Beka Customer Service

Are you wondering if you’ll be able to handle a job and classes, too? What about time for social activities? With the variety of campus opportunities at PCC and class scheduling designed with you in mind, you can do both. Much of PCC’s student body works part-time and completes class assignments while still being able to enjoy social activities. Students gain practical experience working in many different areas such as dining services, maintenance, security, grounds, office areas, print shop, A Beka Academy, and more.

PCC's Work Assistance Program helps thousands of students pay for their college education.

College costs are often a deciding factor in choosing a college. PCC is very affordable at $7,500 for yearly tuition, room and board, but it can be more affordable with PCC's Work Assistance Program which allows eligible students to earn $1,630 — $4,070 each school year. Summer work opportunities are also available.

Students in this program gain practical experience in one of 48 different work areas such as dining services, maintenance, College office, or print shop.

"But what if I can't handle classes and a job, too?" It can be done. Over 1,800 students complete their class assignments and enjoy Collegian functions, Christian service, sports, and other activities while working part-time.

Here are Some Testimonies of Those Who Are—

"The Work Assistance program assisted me in paying for my school bill, and also helped instill a good work ethic for my future career in Criminal Justice. My work in A Beka Book improved my social and communication skills. I learned to establish good relationships with my superiors, but still maintain a professional outlook on the work place." Ashley from South Carolina

"Work Assistance encouraged me to manage my time more effectively. Each semester some of my friends without jobs who had more time on their hands actually procrastinated more in their classes and projects. I thank God for allowing me to work and helping me learn the discipline needed to do well academically."Andrea from Michigan

"Growing up in a pastor’s home, I feared that it would be hard to pay for college. When I found out that I could work my way through college in PCC’s Work Assistance program, I knew that it was just the thing for me. I am so thankful to have benefited from a debt-free college education. Through my campus job, I met some of my closest friends and gained valuable experience. I have been able to work in a variety of areas and have thoroughly enjoyed each of them. The Lord used each work experience to prepare me for what I will face in my future career."Megan from Florida

"The Work Assistance program matured me as an individual. It strengthened my character, taught me effective time management skills, and trained me to rely on the Lord to accomplish tasks. PCC’s work program has two distinguishing characteristics: it provides an opportunity for a student to pay his own way through college, and it provides a Christian environment in which to do so. I believe the program has admirably equipped me with the experience and discipline that I will continue to use to serve the Lord after I graduate." Joseph from South Carolina
