The Blessings of Bible Conference

Dawn Barnett

“Bible Conference has been such a blessing so far!!” tweeted senior nursing major Dawn Barnett (GA) on Thursday, the second day of this year’s conference.

The day before began as a foggy, misty kind of day, but the overcast weather couldn’t dampen students’ spirits at the Olde County Fair picnic in the Sports Center. With classes ending at noon, students had plenty to celebrate as they played giant Jenga and other games, listened to festive music, and ate treats like soft pretzels and snow cones.

Starting Wednesday evening and continuing through Friday, services held in the Crowne Centre offered challenging and encouraging messages filled with insightful studies and poignant illustrations. Seasoned pastors Dr. Shane Lewis (AL), Dr. Marc Monte (IN), and Dr. Johnny Pope (TX) preached on topics such as faith, grace, prayer, and witnessing. Friday afternoon, a performance by former artists in residence Ray and Ann Gibbs and their daughter Christina encouraged listeners to focus on Jesus, the only One worthy of worship.

Lindsay Harner

Bible Conference offered a refreshing opportunity to refocus on the Lord and His work in our lives. As the conference concluded, sophomore Lyndsay Harner (PA) tweeted, “@campuschurchpcc this week has been EXACTLY what I’ve needed! Thank u @DrJohnnyPope @drmarcmonte @shanelewis1992 4 your influence in my life!”
