Uri Meyers MarketingManagement grad Uri Meyers (’97, CA) is the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Group Operations Manager for Southern California. His department is responsible for over 400 of the company’s city and airport car-rental facilities, from San Diego through San Louis Obispo. “Every day presents new challenges,” Uri said. “Some days I am meeting with our corporate team to design and implement new airport projects, other days I am meeting with landlords to discuss rent and lease terms. And some days I spend in the office strategizing with senior management on the direction of our group.”

Uri began working with Enterprise as a Management Trainee in 1997. “I had just graduated with a Management degree from PCC, and was unsure of what I wanted to do with my life,” Uri said. “I believe God led me to Enterprise, which presented me with a fantastic management training program where I could work my way up through the ranks, since Enterprise only promotes from within. I started as everyone does—renting cars.”

Over the next several years, Uri received promotions that led him to a position with the accounting team, then to become Regional Vehicle Repair Manager where he spent 5 years managing a fleet of 4,000 cars. He was soon promoted again to Regional Operations Manager with oversight of 30 branches, then to Group Operations Manager in south Florida with oversight of 200 branches. “I was extremely blessed to be very successful in that role, which presented me the opportunity to assume the top operations career at the largest group in the company,” Uri said. “It is extremely challenging, but I am thankful to have been very well prepared to handle the demands that come along with a job of this caliber.

“PCC’s programs taught me discipline, strategy, and focus. These are three aspects of my job that are invaluable. There are always many challenges in my environment, but I was trained to analyze those challenges and identify the ones that need immediate attention and which ones can be delegated to others. In the business world, discipline, strategy, and focus are three aspects that are invaluable to a company. I left PCC with all three of those pieces firmly in place, which set me up for success at Enterprise.”
