Coronavirus Information

Student health continues to be our number one priority. Students should read Florida Health’s COVID-19 General Prevention poster and keep the following things specifically in mind:

• Routinely clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (keyboards, phones, desktops, etc.).
• Wash or sanitize your hands often.
• Cover your cough.
• Stay home if sick.

Face masks are optional based on personal student health and responsibility, with the following exceptions:

• Dining hall and retail Dining Services student workers are required to wear masks while working.
• Face masks are needed for customer service positions if patron interactions are less than six feet apart.

When working, masks worn must be plain or patterned with no writing or symbols, with the exception of official PCC branding.

Students are expected to complete an COVID-19 Screening before leaving the residence halls. Questions should be answered with respect to current and pre-existing conditions.

If symptoms reported are known to be directly related to COVID-19, students will be instructed to stay in their residence hall room and contact their health care provider. Any symptoms reported with limited connection to coronavirus will permit attendance to on-campus activities but will recommend that symptoms be monitored. The COVID Support team may also contact students regarding their status.

Separation from others could play a key role in preventing a widespread campus occurrence. Students should be intentional about personal interactions, keeping distanced from others (especially those older or with health conditions).

At lunch, students should use the hand sanitizing stations and gloves when going through serving lines or consider Grab N Go.

Overnight campus visitors will not be permitted to stay in any residence hall to limit the spread of COVID-19. The guest policy has been modified to reflect this change.

• Semester Beginning and End

  Family members of residence hall students may assist in moving students in or out of their room on designated dates and times for up to three hours. Family members helping students may be required to wear masks and undergo a temperature check.

• Events

  College Days and Explore PCC events will provide a list of discounted local hotel options to accommodate prospective students. Guests will be able to visit the residence halls through an organized tour. Sporting events like Eagles Classic Invitational will provide alternative off-campus housing for teams and coaches.

• Camps

  Teen Extreme and Academic Camps participants are not housed with the PCC summer student population but stay in designated residence halls.

While PCC offers the most affordable, high-quality college education, sometimes students experience a financial shortfall that may halt their college career. PCC Cares Fund will be available for the 2021–2022 academic year, offering need-based financial assistance for new and returning students. To apply for a financial assistance review, please complete the short online questionnaire. After completing the online form, you will be able to schedule an appointment to meet with our financial aid advisor either by phone or in person.
