My classmates and I were taught to hold our standards high and answer to God first, knowing if we maintained His holy standards, we could maintain those of our police chiefs and commanders. PCC’s criminal justice program also taught me to balance my profession with my family and my faith. Our classes were bathed in as much Scripture as possible which helped us understand our calling by God and the importance of using God’s help and power to protect us spiritually and physically. The fact is, I couldn’t be a Christian professional in law enforcement without the foundation I received at PCC.

You make good friends. When you meet other people that have the same goals and desires in their life, it’s easy to make good friends with them. We had a group in our art room—we just had a great time. We would be up there all weekend working on our projects, painting, drawing. We would talk together, we did lots of fun stuff together. We just became a real solid group and we encouraged one another in our art abilities—we could do it! It rounded out the college experience, and those are friendships that you keep for a lifetime.

My senior year of college was one of the highlights for me—all the people to fellowship with, all the people to talk with. I have friends now in so many different fields. I’m an evangelist, and I think it was great that all of my friends were not just evangelists or pastors or anything like that. I have friends that now are accountants. I have friends that are working at different venues across the nation. It was really neat to have an experience on campus where so many different walks of life and so many areas of the country and even the world to be able to connect with.
