PCC has been gearing up with new strategies to keep students and faculty safe while ensuring academic excellence this fall. The learning experience will look different, but we’ve put together a plan to help students succeed, whether on campus or taking courses remotely.
Check out some of the highlights:
Flexible course options with upgraded technology, including online, on-campus, and hybrid courses, allowing residential students to take up to three online courses and remote students to take a full load of online courses.
Focused communication between faculty and students with in-person or virtual advising and tutoring available for every student.
Enhanced class schedule starting on the hour and the half hour to help with social distancing in hallways, stairwells, and elevators.
Added mitigation efforts, including
- required face masks when going to and from class and where social distancing is not possible
- daily cleaning of classrooms, equipment, and common touch points
- new signage marking entrances and exits
- provided gloves or hand sanitizer for students in labs or experiential courses with shared equipment
- removal of non-essential furniture, giving more room to space out student desks
Accommodations for students experiencing illness, including those needing to quarantine or isolate.
Modified calendar transitioning students to a completely online format after Thanksgiving break.
Regular evaluation points allowing faculty advisors to keep track of students’ progress and address issues in real time.

It’ll be an adjustment for everyone, but don’t worry—we’ll break our new COVID-19 policy down step by step and explain it to all students during orientation meetings.
