PCC's 40th Anniversary Celebrated with Classic Opera
In honor of its 40th anniversary, PCC welcomed alumni back to the stage for the comic opera The Elixir of Love. Set in a 19th-century Western town,
the opera introduced the audience to lovesick Nemorino, played by Alex Aeschliman (’10), his cocky rival Belcore, played by Rick McDonnell (’09), and
the woman they both love, the indecisive Adina, played by Leah Hill (’06). All hope seemed lost for Nemorino until Dr. Dulcamara, played by Matt Wright
(’00), came to town peddling his love potion. Through a series of classical arias and beautifully blended duets, Nemorino and Adina discovered the meaning
of true love (while Dr. Dulcamara took the opportunity to peddle his wares). The evening was marked by laughter and applause at this commemorative Fine Arts
production.
