Plan of Study

With PTS, you can earn your Master of Divinity—no matter your undergraduate training. You’ll simply follow one of two tracks designed to build on your previous education.

Up to 24 hours of advanced standing can be granted for certain undergraduate coursework. Three elective hours may also be transferred for completing a chaplain training course of the U.S. Army, Navy, or Air Force. At least 50 percent of degree requirements must be completed through PTS. If you have not taken Baptist Polity and/or Church Planting as a PCC undergraduate, you’ll add to your track PT 501 Baptist Polity and/or PT 513 Evangelism and Church Planting.

The Master of Divinity application is available to men preparing for active, full-time ministry. M.Div. students are not required to have majored in Bible on the undergraduate level, but a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA is required.

Incoming students may receive up to 24 hours of advanced standing. Advanced standing will be granted only for undergraduate courses with content comparable to those offered at Pensacola Theological Seminary and in which at least a “B-” was earned.

You can complete all your coursework 100% online, without ever being required to come to PTS.

  • Short sessions on campus have start dates throughout the summer.
  • Online-learning sessions have multiple start dates throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • On-campus semesters begin each fall and spring.
