College Getaway FAQs

  • Where do I check in?

Those riding on the bus will check in with your bus crew when you board. If driving or flying into Pensacola, check in between 3 and 5 p.m. in the Sports Center at Pensacola Christian College (250 Brent Lane, Pensacola, FL 32503).

  • Where do I get a parking pass? Where do I park?

If driving into campus, stop at one of the Welcome Centers, and a campus officer will provide a parking pass to display in your vehicle. You may park in designated guest parking or any unmarked spots.

  • What is in my check-in packet?

Your check-in packet includes class schedules, your Guest Card, Financial Fast Facts, and your room assignment.

  • What do I need to bring when staying in the residence halls?

Plan to bring your registration confirmation email, twin-size linens (or sleeping bag), a pillow, towels, washcloths, toiletries, your Bible, and clothing that follows the guest dress guidelines. Spending money is also recommended for purchases around campus and to purchase lunch on the bus ride both ways. (On the ride to Pensacola, you may pack a lunch if desired.)

  • Will meals be provided on the bus?

We will stop for lunch once on the way to campus and once on the way back. We encourage you to bring some extra spending money for these meals. (On the ride to Pensacola, you may pack a lunch if desired.)

  • May parents attend this event with their student?

While we strongly encourage parents to visit PCC, please plan to do so at one of our other events. College Getaway is specifically designed for only student participation.

  • Am I able to visit classes?

Yes! Although the College Getaway schedule is full of many other opportunities, there will be a few hours set aside to visit classes.

  • Will I be able to take a tour?

Yes, a campus tour is built into your College Getaway schedule.

  • How do Guest Cards work?

Participants are issued Guest Cards at check-in, which allow tap access to their rooms and meals. Money may also be added to the card account to make purchases on campus.

  • How do I add money to my Guest Card?

Cash or credit/debit cards may be used to add funds to Guest Card accounts at any of the add-value machines on campus. These machines are located in the Sports Center, Commons, the Academic Center, and each of the residence halls. Note that funds cannot be added to the card account until the card is issued at check-in.

  • Can cash or credit/debit cards be used for purchases instead of the Guest Card?

Yes! However, some locations, such as laundry machines, accept only Guest Cards.

  • How do I check the balance on my Guest Card account?

Guest Card account balances may be checked at any add-value machine on campus.

  • How should I care for my Guest Card?

Do not store your Guest Card with your cell phone, near a wireless charger, or by anything magnetic, since this may damage the electronic chip inside your card. Do not punch holes in the card or allow the card to be bent, scratched, or left in extreme temperatures.

  • I lost my Guest Card. What should I do?

Lost Guest Cards must be reported immediately to Card Services (AC 112) or the Information Desk to protect your funds. When a card is lost or stolen, the account balance is not protected until the card is officially reported missing and deactivated, so do so promptly. The card account balance from the time of the deactivation will be available for use on your replacement card. If you have received a replacement Guest Card and later find your original, the original should be cut up and discarded immediately. Only the most recently issued Guest Card will be valid for accessing campus or purchasing.

  • What happens to the leftover funds on my Guest Card account at the end of the event?

Leftover funds may be refunded by visiting the Cashier’s Office (Administration Building, 1st floor) with your Guest Card Monday–Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Funds expire if left on the Guest Card account after the event and will be donated to PCC.
