A Word from the Chair of Performing Arts

The performing arts department offers degree programs centered on enhancing students’ ability to communicate with their audience. Private instruction from highly trained professionals in dramatic arts and music prepares the student for solo performance recitals and many additional outlets for ensemble or cast performance.

Whether in music or performance studies, students receive practical, personal instruction and regular opportunities every semester to apply what they’ve learned. Above it all, surrounding each course and performance opportunity is a desire that students would use their talents and opportunities to the glory of God and to promote the cause of Christ in our world.

Dramatic Production’s M’Liss, My Western Miss

Imagine staging a play as a romantic comedy murder mystery. Now imagine doing so while earning college credit. Instead of taking tests at a desk, students in the speech class Fundamentals of Dramatic Production (SP 308) applied skills in directing, makeup and hair design, costume and set design, and more when they mounted M’Liss, My Western Miss.
