Understanding the Creator and His Creation
About the Natural Sciences Department

With choices regarding public health, the environment, and ethics resting upon the philosophy of life and its origin, the need for Christians in science and mathematics increases each year. To meet this demand, the natural sciences department at PCC provides STEM degrees that emphasize the close-knit relationship between science and the Bible.

Fuel your intrigue of God’s complex design by studying subjects like mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. These universal languages are researched and applied in the laboratory or classroom. Exercise your ability to analyze and predict complex equations through mathematical theories. And as you explore the incredible patterns found in creation, you’ll gain a greater understanding of how God established the laws of the universe and how these fields can be used to influence the world for Christ.

The accumulation of rigorous coursework reinforced with biblical principles will launch you toward professional degrees. You’ll be equipped to defend your faith as you continue your path to becoming a mathematician, biochemist, scientist—or so many other professions.

A Word from the Chair of Natural Sciences

I believe studying science is more than gathering knowledge—it’s a pursuit of God’s handiwork. We desire every natural sciences student to grow not only in academic strength but in personal faith, deepening their love for the Creator through every discovery. Through hands-on opportunities, including research projects and practical applications, students graduate fully prepared to pursue further education or enter their chosen career fields with confidence.

Students pursuing one of the science concentrations build a robust academic foundation and develop critical analytical and research skills, equipping them for advanced studies or careers in research and technical fields. Those focusing on health-related disciplines receive rigorous training for graduate studies, grounded in a biblical perspective of life and dedicated compassionate service. Mathematics students hone their analytical expertise and knowledge to honor God and excel with integrity in their chosen professions.

The faculty are committed to using their years of academic study and professional experience to develop graduates who are both intellectually prepared and spiritually grounded—ready to serve the Lord with excellence, whether continuing their education or stepping confidently into the workforce. Discover how studying science at PCC can inspire your pursuit of truth and glorify God.
